Seven European Hedgehogs were confiscated from private ownership on Saturday 21st May 2016. These hedgehogs are native to Jordan and as all native species, are protected by law. The Hedgehogs were brought to the New Hope Centre where they were assessed and given time to recover from their ordeal.
On Monday 23rd May the seven were released back into the wild at the Al Ma’wa reserve where they may roam free and still be protected from poaching within the boundaries of the reserve.
