Rocket is an albino raccoon who was rescued from the illegal trade in Qatar and was
relocated to Al-Ma’wa for Nature and Wildlife towards the end of 2019. Albinism is caused
by a lack of melanin which results in white skin, hair and eyes. As an albino animal, his
chances of surviving in the wild are very slim and therefore cannot be released into the wild.
Instead, he will live in captivity where his needs are met. He can be very inquisitive of his
surroundings and likes to spend his days exploring his home!
