Mahzooz, the Nile Crocodile was Released into the Wild

February 22, 2022

Mahzooz, a Nile Crocodile, who was confiscated from the illegal pet trade has found freedom
thanks to collaborative efforts with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), after
being released into the wild in Sudan!

After being rehabilitated at Al-Ma’wa for Nature and Wildlife, Mahzooz (meaning Lucky in
Arabic) really lived up to his name as most crocodiles in the illegal pet trade either live in
captivity for the rest of their lives or are euthanised. Mahzooz now lives the life he deserves,
in the wild!
