Baboons

Reyad and Zaytoonah are Olive Baboons and arrived at Al-Ma’wa for Nature and Wildlife in
December 2021 after being confiscated from the illegal trade. They are now provided with
proper nutrition, space and respect as wild animals.

Although they are not related, they get along very well together and Reyad is very
protective of Zaytoonah, and often acts like her older, protective brother!
As baboons require very specific care, we are in the process of trying to find them a better
home. It is important as a nature and wildlife sanctuary, that we are aware of the specific
care and attention our animals require. Where it is possible that the animals can be
provided with a better environment, we will ensure that this is made possible. The interests
of our animals are always placed at the forefront of our duties and responsibilities.
